The Blessing

Storms crush my footprints
I wasn’t there long enough
For them to last
Too bad the Irish priest
Can’t tell me what to do
Where to be
Who to be
How to be
He’d give me the blessing
God I need it

May the road rise to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back,
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
The rains fall soft upon your fields and,
Until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.
